He spent 21 seasons with the Boston Bruins, during which he played in 1,518 games, scored 395 goals, and recorded 1,169 assists for a total of 1,564 points. He won five Norris Trophies as the NHL's top defenseman, was a 19-time All-Star, and was named to the NHL First All-Star Team 13 times.
