Ken Daneyko and Colin White both made significant contributions to the New Jersey Devils' defensive corps during their NHL careers, known for their physicality and defensive prowess. Ken Daneyko, nicknamed "Mr. Devil," spent his entire 20-season NHL career with the New Jersey Devils from 1983 to 2003. Renowned for his rugged play and leadership, Daneyko played 1,283 regular-season games, recording 178 points (36 goals, 142 assists) and amassing 2,516 penalty minutes. He was instrumental in helping the Devils secure three Stanley Cup championships (1995, 2000, 2003) and was awarded the Bill Masterton Trophy in 2000 for his perseverance and dedication to hockey. Colin White, another stalwart on the Devils' blue line, played 11 seasons in the NHL, primarily with New Jersey, from 1999 to 2012. Known for his strong defensive play and physical presence, White appeared in 797 regular-season games, accumulating 129 points (20 goals, 109 assists) and 869 penalty minutes. He also played a key role in the Devils' Stanley Cup victories in 2000 and 2003. White’s dependable defensive efforts and consistent performance solidified his reputation as a reliable and tough defenseman during his time in the NHL. Together, Daneyko and White helped establish the Devils as a dominant defensive team in the league.​
